We just made plans to go to Paris in May and the tickets for both levels of the Eiffel Tower are completely sold out.
It seems that the only way to skip the line is to be on a private tour. I am looking for recommendations for specific tour companies for a private tour or behind the scenes tour. There are so many to choose from and the reviews on Trip Advisor are all over the place.

Angela, don't have any specific tour recommendations but keep looking online until the day you go, if you have to. I found tickets two weeks before we left last Fall when they were sold out, apparently months before. It may be that they hold back on opening until closer to the destination time. Good luck.
Angela, try "Get Your Guide" tours (http://www.getyourguide.com/s/?q=paris). I took the 90 minute Behind the Scenes tour last May and have reservations to do it again this summer. There are several options available.
