Tour de France 2025

The countdown to the Tour begins today! The route was unveiled earlier this morning. Here it is: https://www.letour.fr/en/overall-route

Looks like they'll be spending a lot of time in northern France before swinging south the the Pyrenees. If you want to see the riders up close, it looks like Toulouse is your best bet; there's a rest day there and then the route starts and ends in the city. I'm very excited for the finish on Mont Ventoux!

I've been dreaming about seeing the Tour (and taking my kids) for a while, and this route looks pretty good. Maybe we fly into Amsterdam, explore a few days and then head to Lille. Do a day trip to Bruges (my youngest is suddenly obsessed with the idea of Belgian fries served in a cone with mayo - his favorite condiment). Then follow the Tour to Normandy and see the D-Day sites. Break off after the opening days and head to Alsace? Fly into Paris for two nights and then hit Normandy? Fly into Barcelona and then hit the Pyrenees? Toulouse and the Pyrenees? Brittany and then the Loire? The possibilities are endless (although I'm leaning towards the first two).

How about you? Are you now dreaming of a trip to France to see le Tour?

I used to. I wanted to meet Didi ( the devil ) and give him an Arizona State Sun Devil shirt. I don’t think I’ll get to see a tour now.

One of the other Little League coaches I knew went one year. He can be seen when Lance was starting a time trial ( Alpe d’Huez I think). I heard he was charged with interferring and I think delared Persona non grata and kicked out of France. !

Thank you for informing that the route is confirmed.
In September, I booked a hotel that we like in Rouen for 7-9July when the first few stages were announced and there were rumors of a stop or pass through Rouen, which is one of our favorite cities.
This will be our first time to be in a city when the tour visits.
I'm so excited! Now to plan the rest of the trip.

Thanks for the news. We won’t get to see a stage this summer as we are going to Europe in May-June. Our son and DIL are going to visit some of their exchange students this summer and one of them has family in Laval so that date and town on are their radar for a stop now. They’ve never seen a TdF stage and are hopeful to see a part of it this summer.

Just drove a section of the Tour de Cols in the Pyrenees. The sidewalk in Luz-Saint-Sauveur has plaques comemorating former winners of the Col du Tourmalet. Cycle sculptures on several cols. Phenomenal scenery in the Pyrenees.
