My daughters have never been out of North America. We are traveling to Spain/France for two weeks in August. Wondering if it is better to spend a couple of days in Barcelona or Toulouse. (Girls are 19 and older.)
My thought: fly into Barcelona and head to Girona, Spain - spend three nights there and then head north to Perpignan. Stay three nights in that area and then go to Paris for three nights. After Paris we are spending 2-3 nights with our foreign exchange student in Galinagues, France. I have two days left in trip and am wondering where we should spend them before flying out of Barcelona. My itinerary is just a work in progress. Thoughts or suggestions??? Thanks
Fly into Paris fly out of Barcelona so you don't lose time yo yo traveling from South to North on the train or just skip Paris.
Spend time in Barcelona there is a lot to see and do there.
Research the area Barcelona and the border with France the area where your friend lives on the internet or in the guide book to see where you want to go want you want to do. Ask your exchange friend a local that lives in the area for ideas also.
Barcelona is much more interesting and has more to do and see than Toulouse. Bordeaux is interesting and Carcassonne is a fascinating glimpse into the medieval past.
