Toulouse accommodations

hello

We are traveling to France in June and after our 1 week Dordogne bike trip we will be in Toulouse for a couple nights
Any recommendations on neighborhoods, maybe with walkability to restaurants, train bus etc.

Also if we rent a car what is driving in that area like?

We stayed at the Hotel Albert 1er in the historic center. You can walk to most sites and there are many restaurants nearby. It was recommended to us by others on the forum. The rooms are small. There is a helpful front desk. I don’t know if they have air conditioning since we were there last April and didn’t need it. I would want it in June.

The historic center of Toulouse is not very large, basically anything within 500 meters of the "Place du Capitole" is well located.

See the area marked on this map

The Albert 1er hotel mentioned by Barbara is in this area.

There are plenty of hotels and dozens if not hundreds of restaurants in this area.

You don't need a car in Toulouse and believe me it would be a very bad idea to want to drive in the city.
The historic center of Toulouse is small enough to explore by foot.

If you are driving from the Dordogne to Toulouse, return the car at Toulouse Blagnac airport or at the Matabiau train station.
In the Dordogne, you can take the train to Toulouse from Brive La Gaillarde or Souillac (Trains from Sarlat/Bergerac do not go to Toulouse)
