The latest update of today's "chaos"?

How bad is it for the
locals who comment on this sight?
Is the Eurostar usually part of the strike?
Almost not affected today as the metro showed up right away every time I needed it. One bus route was shortened to avoid a rally, so just walked a little. Husband had to change restaurants for his lunch date b/c it was at a demonstration assembly area. Otherwise life goes on.
Commuting in from the burbs could be a pain, or if you book a hotel near Bastille, République, or Nation you could run into a demonstration. But most tourist stuff is on the west side and most labor action is on the east.
The Local headlines seemed sensationalist. Will watch the news and compare. Your opinions 75020 and chexbres?
Living in East Paris all demonstrations that involve Republique, Bastille, Nation and/or Stalingrad leave me, a bus rider, blocque in my neighborhood as buses can't cross that axis. If they're detoured, unless the detour is posted on RATP I'm out of luck finding the routes. But, loving my neighborhood where there is no shortage of things to do, I'm not bothered. Today was no different than any other demonstration day.
