Planning an August trip and meeting a travel group in Thionville. France.
Would like to spend a day or two adjusting to the time change and seeing a few sights before then.
We've located two cities in the vacinity, Reims and Luxembourg City.
Are either a good choice for spending a day and night?
Any other suggestions?

At Thionville - which I've never visited but not been impressed from the Autoroute - you are sort of half way between Luxembourg City and Metz, both of which are excellent to visit, and for me one of my favorite hotels is just at the edge of Luxembourg City towards Kirchberg.

Don't neglect Nancy either, especially if you like art nouveau art and architecture.
