We go on the big bus tours with Globus/Cosmos. Whenever we go to a new city, there's a city guide and tipping at the end of their tour. Are those guides dependent on tips, generally? Or, are there paid well based on the tour and the group? Since, it's for my wife and me, I'm the one to pay for both of us and I'm always at odds on how much to tip. Usually, I tip between 2-5 euros. I'm thinking it's like tipping at a restaurant there. I guess you might say I can get a bit weary on tipping everywhere. How much should we tip based on the time with that guide?
Maybe you could check with Globus/Cosmos and see what their policy is. Maybe tipping is included in the cost of your excursion. Or they may make it clear that tipping is not included.
I believe that tours with Rick Steves includes tipping.
I'm not referring to the main tour guide.
Tips for city guides are NEVER included.
I would say that it would be more accurate to say that city guide tips are not included with your particular tour company. You might contact them and ask what size tip they consider acceptable, depending on the city and length of time the guide is with you. And while you may find it tiresome, it is just another extra cost that needs to be factored when using companies on the less inclusive end of the spectrum.
