Tip: Add You Tube Videos to Trip Research

Preparing for our Loire Valley/Dordogne trip this year I found You Tube videos to be quite helpful with our research. Just google You Tube Video for (enter name of village) and you’ll see some wonderful traveler videos of walking or driving around the small villages of France. There will be the occasional Chamber of Commerce more polished versions but I find the amateur videos are more helpful.

While researching our trip to the Vaucluse for this year I ran across this delightful You Tube Channel: Me and Mon Ami.

Tim and Mr. Boo purchased a Citroen Ami last year and their channel chronicles their adventures in the small villages of the Alpes-Martime above their home in Villefranche-sur-Mer. The tiny car’s range is only 75km so part of the adventure is managing the power charge. It is a wonderful, hilarious travel log.

If you are timid about driving in France, this channel is probably not for you.

I love youtube videos for many reasons including travel videos. I use youtube videos a lot for travel sometimes spending hours doing research.

Some of the Content Creators do an excellent job and often make me feel like "I am there". Whatever income they earn from their work, they deserve.

Agree, just recently started watching them before travels. I love The Retirement Travelers and Brian & Carrie. I also tend to like the non-professional ones best, but they have to be able to talk and not be in their twenties!

Tammy- thanks, will check out The Retirement Travelers.

In my next life I am going to be a travel blogger with a specialty in France. What a great job that would be!
