Tiny French restaurant near Hotel Saint Honore

Two years ago I went into Hotel Saint Honore and asked the Concierge for a French restaurant for 25euro with wine per person (we pretended to be poor students) he sent us to a place two or three blocks away down a tiny alley. It had a red door with a red velvet curtain inside. The kind of place where they don't speak English, bring the menu of four dishes to the table written on a chalkboard. I had the duck she has snails casserole, we both had the house red. Everyone in there was French.

I can't for the life of me remember the name or find it on google maps (probably because it is so small) but I think we went left out of the hotel. We got lost on the way back but ended up at the Louvre so it is within about six blocks or so of the hotel. I don't imagine a car could get down the street but a scooter could.

That's great! I saw that place and thought it was a possibility. By the way there's a well known restaurant, a bit more expensive-like 35-40 euro pp before wine-called La Regalade Saint-Honore in the same area. Very good, we loved it.

Cheers!

Pure genius, Dave.
Looks like a great place--fresh and real cooking.
