Tintin in Paris

Can anybody recommend a Parisian shop that carries a good range of Tintin (Hergé) merchandise?

Thanks for the suggestion, which I already tried BEFORE posting my question here.

If Tintin merchandise is important, you might want to consider at least a day trip to Brussels if you have the time.

Badger: think you mean the Comics Art Museum where there are items of Tintin on display. Visited years ago but didn't spent time in the museum shop but must have some merchandise about Tintin. Otherwise contact the museum at forehand. https://www.comicscenter.net/en/home There is also Comics Streetart, hopefully they can help you with finding a guided or DIY tour if of interest and having time ofcourse

You can also visit the Hergé Museum in Louvain-la-Neuve south-east of Brussels, 1 hour with the train with 1 change. The museum is at walking distance from the railway station. https://www.museeherge.be/en

Interesting thread - Tintin books have been experiencing a bumpy road in Canada with a couplea Titles being banned in schools to being reclassified as Adult literature in libraries and bookstores.

I was hoping for a response from somebody who has actually visited a bricks 'n mortar store in Paris.

Except the FNACs no longer carry books or much music. They sell electronics now. They are merged with Darty now, in case anyone needs a printer, telephone, or new kitchen. But Jannette’s list is excellent.

Nonetheless, Tintin is available many places. By merchandise, do you mean t-shirts, pencil cases, and stuffed animals, and so on, or do you mean the books, and if so, what language? My children grew up with large Tintin and Milou dolls made by a grandparent. That’s the dog. Snowy in English ?

Thank you Bets. I already possess all the books. I will be looking for clothing items and other trinkets.

Of the 38 locations on Jeannette's kind list, can anybody quickly recognize any in 6th or 5th arrondissements?

Yes, they say 75005 or 75006. 75=Paris, 006=6th arrondissement.

However, you might want to check the toy shop (Jouets Montparnasse) in the 14th, 75014. It’s is close by the 5th and 6th.

Formidable! I was not aware of the arrondissements displayed in the five digit code!! How clever!

There are several comic book stores in the 5th that also carry merch/figures, such as Album at the Bd Saint Germain / rue St Jacques corner. However, they might be more manga- and fantasy-focused these days. Still worth a look if you are staying nearby.

I never even walked by, but looking into this just now I found "Bulles en Boîte" in the 1st arrondissement and it might have what you are looking for.

I don't know about other merchandise, but I saw a book seller in Passage Jouffroy who had a huge collection of Tintin books. Wish I had bought one as a memento.

To complete this thread, we visited L'oiseau de Paradis, 211 Boulevard St-Germain, 75007 and acquired the t-shirts I was looking for.

I noticed a lot of used Tintin books at the Vide-Grenier we visited. But I did not need any of them.

The booksellers along the Seine have some cool probably non-authorized posters and other merch. I got a "Matrix" poster for my son, with Tintin, Haddock, and Calculus replacing Keanu Reeves et al.
