Timed entry Versaille

I am trying to buy timed entry tickets to Versailles for May 30. The official site is not allowing me to do that. There was a « contact us » button so I sent an email to them. The response was.....Thank you for your email.

We inform you that time-entry Passport tickets are not available.

We invite you to buy regular tickets (on which it will be written 9 :00 am, the opening time of the palace).

Does anyone know if they have done away with the timed entry? I also don’t see where I can purchase tickets to the Kings apartment tour. The thought of waiting hours to get into the Palace does not appeal to me! Thanks.

Hmm, the only timed entry that I know of is for the tour of the Private Apartments of the King, but when I click through May 30 is grayed out. Can you go on another day?

Other suggestions would be to arrive early to be at the front of the ticket-buying line, to buy a ticket on line and head straight to the security line, or to explore the gardens first (free) then see the Palace after lunch.

You used to be able to purchase timed entry to palace. I have a friend who did that last summer and it worked very well. I just read on Trip advisor that as of Oct 2018 they no longer offer the timed entry tickets :(. I am not sure if that is accurate but now I am considering working in reverse as you suggested.

I don't have a definitive answer to why the Kings apartment tour is not available on May 30th. It may be that May 30th is an official holiday in France and while the website shows that Versailles is open that day there doesn't seem to be any Kings apts tours on holidays - I checked May 1 and 8 which are also holidays and it's not offered then either. So, if that's the only day you can go, your only options are those mentioned by the poster above.

Thanks Nancy....just checked....May 30 is Ascension Thursday!!! We can adjust our schedule and go on Friday

FYI - you might want to book your tickets soon. I got mine yesterday for May 31 - the only time is 9:30. I emailed and asked if they would add more times at a later date and they said no.

I got KAT apartment tour at 9:30 on June 1 for 4 people and that was the only time an English tour was available. Don't know if they usually have later KATs in English -- but these are very small tours, so getting them asap when you know your dates is a good idea.
