Timed entry for Clos de Luce?

I am looking to booking tickets online to Clos de Luce in Amboise in October 2025. There is conflicting information online on whether tickets for this site are on timed entry. When I select a date, it’s showing 9:00 AM in the cart, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to change that time (I want the afternoon). Has anyone bought tickets in advance online? Were you able to go at any time that day, or did you have to select a time slot? If so, how did you select a time slot on the ticketing website? Thanks!!

Hi CJean. Yes, that is the site. Initially, I didn’t think there was timed entry either, but when I add tickets to my cart, it shows the date and then 9:00 AM, which maybe is just the opening time. I am trying to figure out if that’s all it is or if I am inadvertently signing up for a specific time window.

No, advance purchase is probably not necessary as I am planning to go on a weekday. But when they are available in advance, I usually like to buy them ahead of time for peace of mind. Since you had an easy time walking up last year, I won’t worry about it too much. Thanks, ORDTraveler!

Yo KW,
Maybe check out the neighboring Chateau Gaillard. My French-born friend just came for lunch and confirmed our own plan to do that same 2-fer there during October. He says that it is indeed, a less-trodden place with a nice chilled-out cafe. He used to work very nearby.

Merci ORD!

p.s. It's just Clos Lucé. Pronounce cloloosay. Anything else will just confuse the locals 🤔
