Time to drop off and pick up locked luggage at Gare du Nord or something faster

Hello fellow travelers,
I want to lock up my luggage for a few hours prior to getting on the Eurostar and I read that they recently renovated the luggage lockers at Gare du Nord. I am wondering if this has decreased the time needed to get bags through security and to pick them up on the back end. I am assuming 30 min to get through security on drop off and 30 min for any queues on pick up. Does this seem accurate? If so, has anyone used a different service near the station for held luggage to save time? I hate to spend an hour doing luggage drop off/pick up.

Thanks!

Where did you get the info that it takes 30 min? It sounds very, very long to me. Haven't ever used the Paris SNCF luggage storage facilities though, only the ones in Strasbourg (in peak season, and it took 5 min).

In any case there is no security check when you go to collect luggage so you can remove that from the equation.

Also, you can check competing luggage storage service in the area on the likes of Bounce, RadicalStorage or NannyBag.

Thank you for your reply Balso. I had read on Trip Advisor it could take up to 30 min to get through security on drop off and then up to 30 min to get through the queue for pick up (but no security on pick up). I have used Bounce before for luggage storage in Spain and Italy but not France, my experience with it was quite variable depending on the location. If anyone has great suggestions on alternatives to Gare du Nord for luggage storage that have worked well I welcome that, otherwise I guess I will need to take my chances with the time factor at Gare du Nord.

You mention lockers, but please note that there are no lockers at Gare du Nord. There is luggage storage, but not in self service lockers.
When you want to store luggage, you go to a desk, show them the bag(s) you want to store and they will charge you based on the size of the bag. Your bags will get a tag and then you will have to take your luggage over to the security check. You place your bag on the belt and it will go thru the Xray machine. On the other end an employee takes your bag off the belt and stores it for you.
This whole process can take up some time depending on how busy it is. I was there in August 2024 right after the Olympics and it took me about 15 minutes to store my luggage.
Pick up was easy and fast; you hand your luggage tag to an employee who will retrieve your luggage.
