Time slot reservation at Musee d'Orsay with PMP

Hello,
It seems like you don't need to make time slot reservation if you have Paris Museum Pass, I just wanted to double check with experienced travelers and how crowd is it in the morning? We will be there in first week of Aug. , I have already made reservation for Louvre and Versailles but not sure how much crowded it will be at d'Orsay.
Thank you.

Don't go on a Tuesday -- even with timed tickets it is long lines. (they have all sorts of lines -- those with reserved time slots, those with this pass and that, those without tickets. ALL were incredibly long when we went on a Tuesday. On a Thursday with timed tickets, it was pretty manageable.

It's not that you don't need it, they won't let you get a timed slot if you have the PMP... So basically youare at the mercy of the load at the time you go.

The previous comment mentioned how busy it is Tuesday; that's because the Louvre is closed on that day.

I was wondering the same thing about crowds, but I guess it really doesn't matter since you don't have an option unless you decide to buy a ticket for it outside the PMP system. I wonder if that's somewhat the plan all along, since it appears they limt the Louvre tickets for the PMP even when they are still selling normal one-off tickets.

wow, that is something about PMP, I opted to get that one cause of skip the line capability, now that I realized about not being able to reserve the time slot with PMP, I totally regret the purchase of PMP. It is disappointing about that not being about to reserve the time slot with PMP. I guess I am doomed unless you pay on top of PMP which I don't think that is the way we will go for it.

I'm hoping to go in the evening on a Thursday when they are open until 9:45. I will have a PMP too.

Skip the line, is an unfortunate marketing ploy that misleads many visitors into thinking they should purchase a pass of some type. Skip the line only refers to the ticket line, and anyone who purchases tickets in advance, such as from a museum website, skips the ticket line, but there are still lines, most notably are the security lines which apply to everyone.

Visiting Paris this week and we opted for the 2-day PMP (also without knowing some of the things mentioned here).

We went to the Orsay on a Saturday and beat the weekend crowds in line by making it the first thing we did. Museum opened at 9:30, we got there around 9 and grabbed coffee at a cafe nearby so we were in the PMP line closer to 9:15-20. There was a small line already formed but it took maybe 10 min or less to get processed and into the museum.

The non-reservation AND non-PMP line was definitely still longer and would have taken 10-20 min based on when we got in line.

Also note, the PMP gets you access to the exposition/special exhibit, but the crowds built up within an hour or 2 of being there even for that line so I'd make it your first stop in the museum if you're interested.

We went recently on a weekday with the PMP. We arrived at about 10:00 and the line wasn’t too long. We waited maybe 10 minutes. As stated above, the line for people with no reservation or PMP was 4x as long. For us the PMP was worth it.
