TIme of Day to Visit Paris Museums

I've read advice that we should visit the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay in the afternoon to try to mitigate the crowds. But now that many museums are requiring timed entry tickets, is this advice still valid? We will be traveling in Paris the week of June 12th. I'm wondering in particular about the Louvre (Wednesday) and the d'Orsay (Tuesday), but we would also like to visit Les Invalides, Rodin, l'Orangerie, Sainte-Chapelle (on Sunday), and the catacombs.

I changed my plans on the fly while in Paris (pre-pandemic) when the Musee d'Orsay announced it would be open one evening of the week I was there. For timed entry and current usual/unusual opening hours things can change, so check each museum's website for the latest updates.

We are here right now. Get the museum pass! Make sure you get the pass by parismuseumpass.fr. There are ones by Viator that cost more. You may still need timed entry for some locations, but you skip the lines. We needed timed entry for the Louvre, St. Chapplle, L'Orangerie. You will have to go to each website and book a reservation without a ticket, it is an option. With the Museum pass you do not need need a time entry for Musee d'Orsay. We just went tonight for their Thursday evening late opening. No waiting in line. We arrived around 6 pm. Also if you have not made your reservation for the Eiffel Tower do it. We got the only slot left for the week at 11pm.
