We are flying into CDG from Chicago, landing at 8:45am in terminal 2E. Our next flight from CDG to Seville departs at 2pm from terminal 2F. We would like to book a short room stay at Yotelair to catch a few winks as we have to drive a rental car from Seville airport to southern Spain (1.5hr drive). My question is - How much time does it take from arrival, deboarding, security and transit to 2F? If I knew that, I can make a decision as to how much time I can spend catching some sleep.
If and when flight is on time, and depending on where you are seated on the plane, figure an hour to deplane and make your way through immigration. Makes it 9:30 to 10 AM. Then you need up to an hour to get to next gate depending on assignment that day. That leaves you roughly 3 hrs for your "nap".
I would reconsider a 1.5 hour drive on the day you arrive from Chicago. Unless you sleep for nearly all of the transatlantic flight, you will not be alert and that could be dangerous even if you’ve had a three hour nap at CDG.
I had a 1:40hr connection Air France at CDG in April. I was anxious but made it with no problem. We had carry-on only terminal 2F was uncomfortably crowded.
My gate to gate experiences when connecting through CDG has taken an average of 1 & 1/2 hours total. This is the time it takes me to traverse from deplaning to arrival at my connecting gate.
I did it last summer with carry on. Took me 2 hours to get to deplane, security, and transit, to next gate. I clocked it.
Thanks to all who replied. Sounds like I should prob plan on 2 hours if all goes well.
Rather than trying to cram in a nap at CDG, why not spend the night in Seville and head out fresh the next day ?
