I am taking the RS Paris tour in July. I am arriving the day before in the morning and usually sleep very well on the plane. Getting there in the morning the jet lag, though still present , is not so bad. I will have that day and the next day until 3pm (when tour starts) on my own and would like to go to Giverny. Any advice on on which day this could be managed. I would try to take a tour that picks me up at my hotel. If it is not really possible, I would like to know now to let that dream go. I know I will see enough of Monet in Paris. Thanks for you help.
Monet’s garden in Giverny is one of our best memories of France. We elected to use Viator to schedule a tour but we had to meet them at location in Paris to start the trip. Your could just as easily take the Train to Vernon and then a bus or taxi to Giverny to see the garden on your own schedule, if you do that I would go early and arrive when the garden opens to avoid the bulk of the crowds.
My daughter and I are also on a RS Paris tour in July. We arrive on the 8th and our tour starts on the 10th. We have booked the Monet’s Garden Bike Tour with Fat Tire Tours – found through RS guidebook for recommendations for Eiffel Tower tickets – on the 9th of July. We meet at the tour office, which isn’t too far from our hotel. Maybe we will see you there. :)
I’m also on the BOE14 tour starting end of May. We arrive in Rome a few days early and have contracted a guide through Tours by Locals for a day trip prior to the start of our RS tour. For this tour the guide will pick us up at our hotel. The booking process was super easy, and we were able to communicate directly with the guide prior to purchasing.
suamill- Unfortunately I will be leaving the day after you arrive. It looks like you will be there for Bastille Day. How exciting!
I decided to go back to my RS book and went to Paris Websevices and found a tour for 715am that should have me back in plenty of time for the 3pm meet up with my tour. I will be able to get there before crowds get too bad as well.
I am so glad I will have this experience to understand and see Monet at his home before seeing his beautiful art.
