According to the official notice from the Prefecture de Police, from 7 am this morning until 8 pm tonight.

they didn't have the ones this summer immediately after Nice, but they started back today, and will now be the first sunday of each month.
today they're also having a drone festival along the Champs-Elysées (!).

It did happen today, 9/4, in a reduced area. Most newspaper articles originally said it would run from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe, but instead it started at the Rond Point and went to the Arc. Police bag inspection on entering. Beautiful cool weather, a few rain drops, lots of people but not crowded, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Cool display of drones in action. Will go again in Oct and Nov.

According to the France 2 news it was a drone competition. Sounds great.
