We plan to be at MSM on Sep. 8 and 9. It appears from the tide chart on MSM site that there is no tide change on those days. Does that mean that it will not be a spectacular tide to watch going in and out? Thanks.
That's what it looks like to me. After going once and not seeing the tides we scheduled another trip around being there during high tide. Even without the tide it is a fantastic place to visit!
Thank you so much.
In Aug and Sep, what are the days with the best chance to see a great high tide? Thanks.
This is the website I used for planning our trip in 2008 http://www.ot-montsaintmichel.com/en/maree-montsaintmichel-august2015.htm It was very accurate.
So, the orange highs are the best days to be there. Am I correct? Thanks.
Well, the orange highlighted tides are the "highest" tides of the month, but Iooks like not too much difference than some of the other days. You also need to look at the times. You won't see much of the tide if it's dark. It is pretty cool to see the tide come in, but I do agree with the previous poster that Mont St Michel is well worth it even if you don't get to see the tide come in / go out.
How did you get to MSM- tour, car, bus, or local English speaking vendor?
Both times I've been we traveled by car. We prefer to travel by public transportation, but in France you miss so much that way, and we've found it quite easy to navigate our way around the French countryside. We drove in Paris once and will never do it again:)
