We will be in Paris in June and will have our adult son with Downs Syndrome with us. When I go to the Orsay museum site to purchase tickets, it says people with disabilities and his person who accompanies him have free admission. It also says he will need proof of his disabilitiy. What kind of proof will we need? Doctors statement? In Germany they just look at him and he gets either free or reduced rates, but does anyone know what we need in France?
I am also curious about this.
We will also be in Paris in June with our adult daughter who has cerebral palsy. When we were there in 2014 we bought a museum pass since we were not sure if a free admission would be granted. As we approached a museum we were ushered straight to the front of the line and were admitted for free. I don't know if that will be the same now.
After searching online I found a section on Orsays site that says seniors and people with disabilities go to entrance C and the disabled and one person with them will enter free and do not stand in line. I still don't know if we need a doctors statement but I guess well ask our sons doctor to give us one just to have it if needed. I'm assuming they mean physical and intellectual disabilities as well. I hope so since our son does not really enjoy museums.lol
