Thinking of visiting Amiens

We are planning a day trip out of Paris and want a walkable place with a bit of quaintness and sights that is easy to get to by train. Amiens seems to be a strong possibility. Also thinking of Rouen. Help

Hi

Amiens is certainly worth a half-day - visit the Cathedral, have a wander through the old quarter, and eat lunch there. Also consider joining a tour out to the WW1 battlefields from there - for the British and commonwealth forces, the Somme battlefield is a 30 minute drive from Amiens.

Bumping this up for you so others who have been to Amiens may see it.

Haven't been to Amiens, so can't offer an opinion, but we're going back to Paris in April and these places made the short list for possible day trips - thought they might give you some ideas:

Rouen

Reims

Provins

Troyes

Moret-sur-Loing
