I have what I think is the latest R. Steves France guide, and on page 186 Rick suggests taking the 13:00 train to Vernon when traveling to Giverny. I have checked the timetables on SNCF Connect, and there doesn't seem to be a 13:00 train, only a 12:12 & then a 14:12 train. Otherwise, trains leave about every hour.
Is this correct? Need to plan our time that day, and this change affects our plans as we had penciled in the 13:12 train.

What is the date that you are planning to go? If you have checked SNCF for that date at the time you want and there is no train showing, then there is no train as of now. Depending on the date, the schedule could change or be updated. Bear in mind that even the most recent Rick Steves guide is not a real time source of information. As an aside, I am surprised that Rick suggests taking a 1 PM train from Paris to Vernon to visit Giverny. I find that the earlier trains and the earlier arrival make for a much better visit but he is the travel expert not me.
Bruce,
Always go by the SNCF or any country-specific train company site. The guidebooks are written many moons before the current train schedule and do not represent official infornmation. And each guidebook (if I am correct in this) is not totally rewritten word for word with each edition.
I can't argue with your advice, but I thought it was a little strange that there were trains every hour but not at 13:00, and that Rick specifically recommended the 13:00 (approx) train.
I found this error, of course, by checking SNCF website as you suggest.
Hopefully, this info will be helpful for someone else.

A book quickly becomes outdated for accuracy for those kinds of specifics. Using the SCNF website or app will provide the information you need.
Use SNCF, and don't look more than a couple few months out.
