Does Rick Steves' travel site provide concierge services? I would love some knowledgeable assistance learning whether an event was scheduled, and helpful assistance procuring GOOD tickets. Please say yes, or, if you can, provide a referral. Thank you!
This is an open community forum, not the RS office. Note that the company is primarily a tour company, not a travel agency. You can reach the office directly, using the contact information at the bottom of the page. But AFAIK, they do not do concierge service or assist with obtaining event tickets.
If you are looking for a particular event or concert, I would start with googling the venue (e.g. Opera Garnier) or the name of the performer or play or opera or event, followed by the city you will be visiting. I have Googled Opera Garnier in Paris, went to their website, and found all the upcoming performances. There are links to reserving and buying tickets, and many can be bought online. Also, most venues have on their website, somewhere, a seating chart. If you want something general, say a ballet, I would Google ballets in Paris (I use Paris as an example). You should be able to navigate easily enough to find and buy your tickets.
If you wish to have this done for you, I suggest seeking out a travel agent who may provide this service, or who could possibly know someone to do this. I have no idea what any fees or charges might be for this service. If you are traveling on an organized tour, my guess is that the tour director or guide could assist you, but if so, I would try to do so well before the trip as an event may be sold out.
Regarding GOOD tickets, every venue will be different, so the website or the tour director (boots on the ground) would be your best bet to finding the better seating options. Best of luck!
