The Camargue near Arles

Would it be worthwhile going to the Camargue late September or early October? I mainly would like to see the pink flamingos. RS book recommends going in the spring for the flamingos. Has anyone been there in the fall, and if so, what would be there to see?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

There are always a few flamingos around, but mating season is June, so that’s when they are most impressive.

Mid-September, 2018, we visited the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau and saw hundreds of pink and white flamingos. It is a few miles north of Sainte-Maries-de-la-Mer on highway D570.

We drove through there in late September driving from Arles to a beach town near Perpignan and didn’t see any flamingos. We did see some a week later from the train taking us from Perpignan to Paris.
