Thalys train to Amsterdam no service June 3

I booked our Amsterdam to Paris on thalys the day the tix opened up and got a great price!!

However, I’m trying to book Paris to Amsterdam June 3rd, it says The Netherlands is not open for bookings yet. Looking into timetables more it seems there is no service that weekend (or the prior weekend)

Now, I found a way to Brussels, then can transfer to a different non high speed train to get in to Amsterdam. The cost and time for this journey is much higher (and longer with connections) and I’m anxious to lock in a price.

Should I go ahead and purchase this alternate route or wait it out to see if Thalys opens all the way through to Amsterdam? Do they often have planned track work or maintenance planned this far in advanced?

Thank you all for your travel experience and thoughts!

Just curious, have you looked at the NS International website? https://www.nsinternational.com/en

NS International is a Dutch site and is a company of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen that operates international train travel. And while Thayls says that, " Bookings for the Netherlands are not yet available for this date" I can go through the booking processfor a ticket on the NS international site.

Thank you so much for your response. Yes, I've checked that site and SNCF-Connect and they all show connections rather than the direct Thalys Paris Nord to Amstersdam. A connection is still a strong solution to getting into Amsterdam though so at least I'm not worried anymore about getting there. Now, just weighting cost and time, wondering if Thalys could open up direct similarly to how we are booked the other way Amsterdam to Paris Nord

If the Thalys Trains are like the SNCF trains in France (I really don't know), it is possible you are just trying to book too far in advance. I'd wait a couple of months and check back.

Bookings open 90 days before the date of travel. On the Thalys booking
page
I got this message for June 3rd: "Bookings for the Netherlands are not yet available for this date." I can see bookings for Paris-Amsterdam available for May 4th, so I think you are just trying to book too early.

Bookings for Thalys trains start exactly 4 months in advance. So today (Feb 4), you can buy tickets up to June 4. It seems however that there are track works scheduled for that particular weekend. The website for international train travel of the Dutch national railway company shows the option of taking a Thalys until Brussels followed by a regular non-highspeed intercity train to Amsterdam.
