TGV train station to Wasserbillig port ?

Hi there

I am travelling from Paris to Luxemburg .. via TGV train. I need to go to Wasserbillig port .

I am travelling with a small group and some has walking issues..

Can we take the CFL train to Wasserbillig gara train station to catch our cruise.

How much walking would there be if we took the train.. ? are the two trains close to each other in the train station. ?

Is there an easier way to catch a direct bus or shuttle to the port ? where and how ??

Any suggestions from travellers or residents who knows this information or who has that has taken the two trains on the same day or the direct bus.. would be much appreciated.

From the the other post you made on the old thread.
There is a train from Luxembourg station to Wasserbillig every 30 minutes and it takes 30 to 45 minutes to get there. At Wasserbillig station, you walk through the tunnel that runs under the tracks to the river which will be right in front of you. Turn right and walk along the river for about 1/4 mile and the boat should be there. 1/4 mile is a 5 minute walk for a healthy person, so maybe your friends can manage. Otherwise call a taxi. It is such a short distance, but if you have a lot of luggage and people with mobility issues, might be for the best. As a former taxi driver, I'd say this run deserves a big tip.

You can "walk" it with google streetview. Here is the satellite view and you can see a cruise boat docked along the river at the bottom and Wasserbillig Gare upper center.

Sorry.. I have another question about the train station upon our arrival in Luxemburg..

We arrive at 1:00 PM from Paris.. there is a train departure to Wasserbillig at 2Pm.. does that give us enough time to catch this train.

I have no idea how big this station is and how far the trains are from each other to catch.. are they in the same area or do we have to walk a distance to get to the city train. ?

we are country folks who have not been in these big cities.. just trying to get a idea as to how much walking for those that have walking issues.

Thanks again.

Both trains are at Luxembourg station. The station has 10 tracks on 4 platforms, so you can probably make the 13:33, which is faster. I am not very familiar with the Luxembourg railway, but it appears you can purchase tickets on board for a premium. But since there is a train every 30 minutes, I don't think you have any worries about making a particular train.

So you arrive at Luxembourg station at a particular track, get off and check the yellow departure sheet on the platform and that will tell you what track the train to Wasserbillig is on. You may want to stop at the ticket window in the main part of the station and buy tickets.

Here is a photo of the main part of the station. Note the big blue board over the door. Zoom in and you can even see a train to Wasserbillig listed departing 15:10 on Track 10, sections C & D. You can also see the entrance to the ticket office "Espace de Vente" and the information desk under the red canopy.
