TGV from Lyon to CDG

We are traveling from Lyon to CDG by TGV in May. We know the train goes to Terminal 2, however our flights departs at 12:10 pm from Terminal 1. Should we take the train the day before and if so should we stay in a hotel close to terminal 1? Any advice/recommendations? We are looking for convenience. Thank you!

Well, if you need to arrive three hours in advance, it may be a good idea to travel the day before and stay at the airport.

Yes, if looking for convenience / low stress, definitely take the train to CDG the afternoon before and stay at one of the hotels actually at the airport such as 'ibis Paris CDG Airport'. Note many hotels have 'CDG' in their name, but are NOT at the airport. For hotels at the airport, you simply walk one block to the free, easy tram which takes you to any terminal in a couple of minutes. Have a great trip!

I took the TGV from Avignon the day before my flight from CDG a couple years ago and stayed at a hotel right at one of the Terminals. It was an IBIS, don't recall which one. However, it really lessened my stress. Both the train and the hotel were great.

I did this in October; TGV from Lyon to CDG (only one stop, at Marne-la-Vallée [Disneyland]) and overnighted at the Novotel, which is directly connected to Terminal 3 - a short “navette” ride from Terminals 1 and 2.
