TGV from CDG to Colmar

We'll be arriving in Paris at noon. My understanding is that trains to Colmar leave from Gare du Nord. We will either take the train or a taxi (there will be three of us) to the station.

There is a train at 14:57 requiring a change in Strasbourg, with a connection time of only 14 minutes. In viewing other options, it seems that all of the connection times are this close. It seems that three hours to catch the initial train should be enough time, but I'm worried about the short transfer in Strasbourg. Does anyone have experience with this connection? Any advice, suggestions, other alternatives?

Thanks much.

Nothing to worry about there will be plenty of trains going from Strasbourg to Colmar, 3 or 4 every hour. It is a regional TER commuter train. You miss one you get on the next one that is all as long as you have a ticket.

Strasbourg does not have a large train station. You’ll be fine, even if you have to change platforms. Enjoy your trip! My fav part of France.

First, trains from Paris city to Colmar via Strasbourg depart from Gare de l'Est, not Gare du Nord.

Second, the departure time you give to Strasbourg is for a train that departs from the CDG TGV station, so you will not need a taxi. If you are arriving at Terminal 2, you just need to walk there. If you are arriving at Terminal 1, take the connecting CDGVAL to Terminal 2.

Your train is TGV 9874, correct?

You need to be sure you know where your train station is. You have plenty of time if it is CDG. If you are in fact leaving from Gare du Nord then it is pretty tight and you would definitely want to take the RER B to Nord and not hazard ground transport with bus or taxi. Those two stations are an hour apart, so make sure you know where you departure station is.

Wow - many many thanks to those of you who replied. I think we're set taking the TGV from CDG to Strasbourg and then transferring there to Colmar. If we miss the connection, as long as we have tickets, we'll be able to get the next train which departs a half hour later.

Much appreciate the help! This forum rocks!!
