Am in the process of planning an October trip of the Dordogne finishing in Bordeaux. Plan to take the TGV to CDG the night before our return flight. Will stay at an airport hotel and take shuttle for the 9:45 a.m. flight. Does this seem like a reasonable plan?
Sounds like a fine plan.
To make it even easier, stay at one of the hotels right on airport property. There are some at the Terminal 3 area so you can use the CDG VAL (the automated shuttle train that connects the terminals) and not have to worry about a bus or taxi that morning.
Just be sure that the train goes to CDG. About a month ago, I took the IDTGV from Bordeaux to Paris. The trip was non-stop and the end was the Montparnasse train station in Paris. Getting to CDG may involve a different train from Bordeaux and changing trains, before reaching Paris. Alternatively, I believe there is a frequent Air France bus that goes from Montparnasse to CDG.

There are several trains a day that go nonstop from Bordeaux to CDG, but not as many as go to Montparnasse.
You have a great plan. Arriving the day before should insure you will make your flight. You can stay near CDG for convenience or squeeze out an extra night staying in the city and taking the train to the airport early in the morning.
Good idea.
I have taken the TGV into CDG several times and it works out great.
Most recently last May and stayed at the new Ibis located at 1 Bis Rue de la Haye.
Good price, nice room and dinner was good.
Also free breakfast which was very nice including fresh orange juice and many other goodies.
One of the best I have ever had in a major hotel.
I plan to do the same on our next trip.
Very easy to get to and within a couple of hundred yards from the terminal shuttle stop.
