I'm looking to book train tickets between Barcelona and Toulouse for 5 people: two 30 year olds, two 60+, and one 25 year old. It seems like the best way to do that is to go from Barcelona to Narbonne then Narbonne to Toulouse. For the Narbonne to Toulouse train, every booking platform I've tried so far (Rail Europe, Omio, SNCF) has auto-selected a TER group ticket called "AvantagiO Tribu avec enfant" which seems to have the condition that one member of the group is aged 4-18 years old. It seems like the 25 year old in our group is being considered a "youth" and then categorized as fitting the 4-18 condition. Does anyone have any experience with this group ticket? Does the 25 year old actually meet the requirements for this ticket, or is this just an issue with the booking platforms and the actual train wouldn't accept this ticket for our group?
Yes, that's right. I checked on the liO website, which is the SNCF's Southwest regional branch.
You're entitled to a 30% discount if the group of 3 to 5 travelers include at least one young person aged 4 to under 18 on the day of travel.

Try the SNCF website, which has an English version.
I've looked directly on the SNCF website and they also seem to recommend I book the "AvantagiO Tribu avec enfant" ticket, even though we don't have anyone age 4-18 years old in our group. I'm confused as to why they would offer that to me if the people in my party don't meet the requirements for the type of ticket?
That is indeed odd. Are you sure that you did this right? Or maybe there is a problem with the site?
On regional trains it is your job to make sure you have the right ticket. So make sure you get it right. With TER tickets there is no hurry. You could even just buy them in Narbonne.
If it's said 4-18, that it's. You will be fined if you don't travel with a minor. So, buy regular TER tickets.
If you're planning to spend several days in the Southwest, keep in mind that the "liO" transit network in Occitanie offers passes starting at €20 per person for unlimited travel from 2 to 6 consecutive days.

It can be worth it just for the train from Narbonne to Toulouse, which can cost up to €30 per person on its own.
For instance, it’ll cost you €100 for 5 travelers with 2-day passes instead of €150 without them.
The only requirement is that the pass is strictly valid for the specific dates you choose.
Thank you all for the advice! I'll just ignore the "AvantagiO Tribu avec enfant" ticket and purchase individual ones. And thank you JoLui for letting me know about the consecutive day passes, that seems like a great option!
