Tentative Plan - 7.5 days in Provence & Riviera

Hi - We have 7.5 days to divide between Provence and the French Riviera in late Sept/early Oct. We fly into Paris, and fly out of Nice (tickets booked). We are keeping the option of driving vs. public transportation open and are willing to take whichever makes more sense, given our time constraints.

Our tentative plan - comments/changes welcome:
Day 1: Land in Paris, take train to Arles. Night in Arles.

Day 2: Tour Arles. Night in Arles.
Day 3: Les Baux and St-Remy or Carmague. Can we do all 3 places if we have a car? Night in Arles.
Day 4: Nimes, Pont du Gard, Uzes, . Can we do all 3 if we have a car? Night in Uzes.
Day 5: Orange, Vaison-la-Romaine. Drive half-way/all the way to Nice. Night in/near Nice.
Day 6: Tour Nice. Night in Nice.
Day 7: Inland Riviera (Vence, St-Paul-de-Vence, Grasse, Grand Canyon du Verdon). Night in Nice.
Day 8 (half day): Tour Nice. Flight back.

Thanks.

I think you can mostly do this, with a car and an early start each day, but also that for most people this would be an inferior trip to one that did not try to cram so much in.

You know your travel style, though, and if you are nimble it is doable.

I'd also pick one base in Provence, Arles or Uzes, and see the other as a day trip. And just drive to your base in Nice on Day 5. Minimize logistical complexity.

It's a great time of year for this trip, have fun!

Thanks Adam. If you were to drop any town(s) to make the trip less hectic which ones would they be?
