Tell me about paris meuseum ticket reservations & times

Bonjour all
Last time I was in Paris was pre Covid
So Reservations were not a thing
… thanks to this forum I became aware of an exhibit/ exhibition

I would like to see spring 2024 at the musée d’ orsay
If I order a date and time and pre pay for it
What happens if for whatever reason
I don’t make it ?
Also
Can I enter the museum earlier that same day on this reservation purchase
Or would I need to pay an additional
Entrance fee?
Reservations to museums
… a new way to travel
For me .. I was & I am one
Who normally wakes up and depending on mood & weather decides what I will do that day… however museum visits are always a yes for me when in Paris

If you don't make it, you forfeit the ticket.
No, you can't enter earlier.
If you have to buy a new ticket, you probably wouldn't be able to get a ticket to this exhibit at the last minute because the subject matter is very popular, and the tickets will sell out in advance.
You might be able to buy a ticket for the Museum permanent exhibits if tickets for that day are still available; you won't be able to enter the special exhibit. In order to buy regular Museum entry tickets at the last minute, you will have to wait in line at a different door. The lines for those purchasing tickets at the Orsay have always been long, even before Covid. Nowadays, the line for ticket holders is equally long. The hold-up in both cases is waiting to go through security.

… i just need to pick a day & time & hope it is
