We are three adults arriving into Paris on a Saturday morning (arrival at 9:45 am). We will each have luggage. Trying to figure out the best option (speed-wise) of getting to our apartment off Rue Montorgueil (near Les Halles). I know the RER would be the cheapest option, but would it be faster than taxi/Uber? Also, what would be the average cost of the car ride?
From Charles de Gaulle airport, fixed price 50 euros. Be sure to only use the authorized queue for taxis. By train/Metro, 10.30 euro each to Gare du Nord and then connect to the Metro (on the same ticket) to your destination. Carry your own luggage.
Small correction -- the fixed taxi fare to the Right Bank is now €53 (and €58 for the Left Bank -- it rose on 1 February this year).
But which is the fastest method? I don't know if there's much traffic heading into the city on Saturday mornings.
Thanks Andrew; I'm overdue for another visit.
Saturday traffic is still rather heavy unless the month is August. Sunday morning the roads are virtually empty.
The RER B to les Halls will be the fastest. (I knw the RER stop is called Châtelet/les Halls but the RER B arrival platform is directly below the métro 4 station les Halls.)
Thanks for the heads up.
We took the RER last year from Les Halles was very easy and very fast. It's way on the lowest floor of the "mall" so take the elevator near the entrance rather than all the escalators! The elevator going up from the lower level is just past the ticket booth, easy to find.
Also, on Rue Montorgueil, go to Stohrer's for some excellent chocolates, pastries and quiche, to go.
