Taxi Uber in Paris

Hi all,,,will be in Paris for an extended period of time with my niece who has RA and trouble walking. I have not had to use a taxi or uber before, as I usually walk everywhere. In order to make this easier for her-getting to restaurants, etc-is Uber available?

Thank you

Yes, Uber is in Paris and operates the same way it does here in the US. The only difference based on my experience is that they sometimes have designated meeting spots that you have to walk to to meet them. They may not necessarily meet you exactly where you are. Also, I don't recall any of my drivers speaking English, but they weren't big on talking anyways. 😁

I used Uber in Paris a couple of times last week. It worked fine.

I used UBER and G7, Paris official Taxi service, while there this past Nov/Dec. My mother has limited mobility so we utilized the Taxi/Uber & Metro. BOLT is another Uber type company in Paris. We tried using them initially, but twice the drivers canceled our pick up within 1 - 2 minutes of arrival. So Uber it was. Getting the slightly larger vehicle made it easier for my mom to get in and out with her cane.

Enjoy your trip.

Taxis are plentiful in Paris, they wait at taxi stands which are easy to find. They also have access to special taxi lanes. Not a worry.

I used the G7 taxis last Fall when I was with a friend who had mobility issues at times. It worked well for us. I added a CC to the app so it was automatically billed. I removed the CC info when I returned home then re-added it when I left for my last trip.

I am just back from Paris. I used both uber and the taxis. I found more uber drivers spoke English, and a higher percentage of Taxi drivers did not.
