Taxi in Paris From Orly Airport

Hello, we plan to drop our rental car at Orly Airport and will then need to get to Ile Saint Louis. We will have 4 people and luggage. Will there be taxis available or do we need to schedule one? Are there any taxi services or scams that we should avoid/look out for? Is there an official taxi service that chaeges fairly and we do not need to be concerned about scams ŵith? Finally what is sn estimated cost for such a trip? Thank you for any replies

Taxis from the ORY official taxi queue charge fixed fares of 35€/42€ to the Left/Right Bank respectively. At any time, there are scores of waiting taxis.

Ile St Louis is in the 4th arrondissement or 42€ for up to 5 passengers with luggage. There are no other charges. Taxi drivers are not tipped.

Thank you! How do we identify the official taxi? And how did you find the price?

Just follow the signs for taxis to Paris. Some of the terminals have blue footprints on the floor leading to the taxi queues.

Go to the official taxi queue which will be well signed and get in line and take the cab at the head of the line that fits your party -- the fixed fare if for 4 persons and luggage not 5, but you are 4, so good for 42 Euro. There are van cabs in the lineup and the dispatcher may be able to summon one for you if your luggage makes a regular cab difficult.

And again there is no 'estimated cost' -- it is fixed and tipping is not required. 42 Euro to the right bank which includes the islands. If anyone approaches you with 'need a taxi' they are scamming you. Ignore them and proceed to the cab queue. (even if they badger you while you are in line). When the cab starts the 42 should show on the meter.

Have your hotel address on a piece of paper you hand the cabbie and you can include the 42 on the paper so he knows you know.

Thank you for the very helpful replies. We will also need a taxi from Ile Saint Louis to CDG airport on Sunday morning to arrive at the airport at 9:00am. Any advice on how to get the taxi and what time we should be getting it would be much appreciated. Thank you

Are you staying in a hotel on Ile St Louis? If so ask the hotel desk to call Taxi G7 and arrange a taxi for you. That will be a flat rate of 55€ plus either 4€ or 7 € depending on when the taxi company is called -- 7€ for scheduled dispatch and 4 € for immediate dispatch. I'd arrange it two days before the departure date and pay the 7€. You can also book Taxi G7 yourself or download their app and arrange the car through that or just log on to their website https://www.g7.fr/en/ and follow the instructions. Be outside 5 minutes before the scheduled time if you are leaving from an apartment. The cars often arrive early. G7 has an English speaking line but I cannot find the number. Maybe someone will offer it up.

The Taxi G7, English speaking operator is at: 01 41 27 66 99, or +33 1 41 27 66 99. I use either Bolt or FreeNow and avoid the dispatch fees.

On a Sunday, an 8am taxi will get you to the airport by 9. It is best to arrange it in advance as suggested by the others.
At Orly, cabs are plentiful but the wait for loading can be long (10-20 minutes not uncommon): don't be surprised. There is no workaround.

Update that Orly to Ile Saint Louis went smoothly and was 41 Euro. We paid 50 Euro (voluntary tip) for the drivers extra trouble of the extra luggage. At Orly, it was a somewhat amusing process of the cab drivers trying to determine if the luggage would fit in their cars...
