Thanks

From CDG? You go directly to the Taxi stand ignoring anyone who comes up to you in the terminal and asks if you are either "going to Paris" or need a taxi. Follow the round blue circles on the floor or the overhead signs to the official taxi rank. Get in line and the taxi manager will point you to a cab.

There is a fixed rate from CDG into town. The 14th is on the LEFT Bank so will be 65E. No tip is needed.

I also have a 3x5 card on which I have my hotel name and full address including the number starting with 75. For you it will be 75014. I have written out beside it - Fixed Rate 65E. I give this to the driver and also hold up my phone and say "Apple Pay" or before I used Apple Pay I would hold up my CC and say...."CC OK?". This way they know you are paying by CC before you get in and they can't try to tell you their machine is broken and they also know you know it's a flat rate.

Pam’s advice is perfect. Be aware while walking through the airport the people trying to direct you to”their” taxi are very persistent. A simple no didn’t work for me, just keep walking and ignoring them and eventually they will give up.

Previous responses are spot on with advice for traveling via taxi from CDG on your arrival day into Paris. Just go to the official taxi line outside and follow the offered advice.

I'd like to add a couple other points about taxis in Paris. We used the app for G7 for taxi service, both while in the city and on our last day back to CDG. The app allows you to indicate your pick up point and destination, and to even order a taxi for a later time. We had a taxi pick us up at 6:30 am for our flight home. You will find that hailing down a taxi can be challenging. There are specific spots on the street to wait for taxis. That's why I like G7, because I can order it at my current location. Ubers are not allowed to use the taxi or bus lanes. I know a lot of people enjoy using Uber but for me I prefer the actual taxi service.

Have a wonderful trip!

Please see my post around Jan 08 titled "CDG experience late December- to and from" and the replies regarding taxi from CDG. Very enlightening replies! Safe travels.

First, just in case someone tries to send you to the wrong door for the taxi, please note that the exact location of the official taxi stand for each terminal can be found at the official site for the airports: https://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passengers/transport-parking/taxi/cdg. Scroll down to "Where can I find a taxi at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)?"
Second, just because you do everything correctly and get into an official taxi does not mean that the driver will not try a scam. Over the years, have had at least three drivers who were in official taxis try to rip me off. None have been successful. The most recent attempt took place last fall when my driver tried to charge me and my husband a €16.50 luggage supplement.

I had the same experience as JHK. I’ve taken I don’t know how many taxi rides to and fromCDG and Paris in the past 25 years and several legit taxi drivers have still tried. Don’t fall for it. Know the fixes fares. Wait to pay the driver until your luggage is on the curb and then pay him what you know to be the correct fare. No tip.

If they make noises about calling the police, tell them to. Trust me, they won’t.

They provide child seats, which is rare in Paris (and required by law btw).

Taxis Parisiens are exempt from child seat requirements.

Also, a tip: neeeeever ever take taxis directly at the airport : they will rip you off

Taxis from CDG/ORY into Paris have fixed fares; 56€/65€ to the Right/Left Bank respectively from CDG (for up to 4 passengers and luggage). The fares are explained on numerous posters and signs at baggage claim. The fare structure is also posted, in English, on the left, rear passenger window of every taxi. It has been a long time since I have seen an account of someone being cheated taking an official Taxi Parisen from the airport, and all taxis are required to accept Visa/MC.

Only official taxis have access to defined pickup locations at the terminal buildings. Taxis also have special routes/drop off points, and access to HOV lanes, and bus lanes that VTCs (Uber, Bolt, Freenow, private car) do not. Taxis are consistently the fastest, non rail option from airports into the city. There is never a charge for luggage.

One of the problems with pre-booking any transportation option is that one never knows exactly when he will be available for pickup. There could be arrival delays, backups at immigration, or unforeseen problems at baggage claim. Taxis are always available, whenever you are ready.

If I do not take a taxi, I take the RER B/métro at 14€ into Paris. But if you are a group of 4 or more people, a taxi may not cost any more and can be cheaper than the train.

I think a lot of posters here would disagree with anna to neeeeever take a taxi from the airport.

I've done so many, many times and lived to tell about it. You can only be ripped off if you let yourself be.

Knowledge is power. Educate yourself and rip off opportunities disappear.
