Where in the 15th? You can try taxifarefinder.com. I find it a little easier to use for estimates than using G7's booking estimator.

G7 is a very large company with a website that's almost too full of information to be understood at a glance. Try this link: https://www.g7.fr/en/book-taxi

Fill in your departure and destination points and the estimated price should show up in the box at the right of the page.

it will vary a bit depending on what day of the week and time of day (i.e. how bad traffic is to get there).

I took a stab at a random hotel in the 15th - average cost would be around 30EU, if you leave in the afternoon. A little less if you leave early in the morning. The trip should take around 30 minutes.

Sorry, will know better next time. We rarely take a taxi anywhere, we prefer to walk.

Don't worry about it Jerry & Stella. We always round up like that and would have given the three euros, too in this situation, though it is a lot. My husband is French and grew up in Paris, so it's more an individual choice than across the board rule of locals.

Hello : )

My husband and i are arriving Paris CDG in February - the hotel scheduled a taxi to pick us up - they say it would be 100Euro cash (private, comfortable, luxury car - guaranteed the driver will wait).

I actually don't mind paying the 100Euro in cash - but my questions are -

1) are drivers known to leave if your plane is delayed ? even when you've booked online with a cc? that's why i was afraid to use my cc online - didn't want to chance losing my money.
2) can anyone recommend a more affordable safe reliable comfortable taxi service?

Thank you !
Carmelita

Carrmarie

There is a huge taxi rank at CDG waiting to serve you. The flat rate is either 45 or 50 euro depending on the location of your hotel.

Correction - the flat rates for Parisien taxis will be either 50 or 55 EU, depending on where your hotel is located.
Private car services are not permitted to wait around if your plane is late. There is not much short-term parking, so they will have to circle around until you arrive. This could be complicated, if you do not have a way to contact the driver, and you will likely end up waiting for him, instead of vice-versa.
Paying 100 EU in cash is just not necessary for someone who "promises" to be there holding a sign with your name on it. Most often, it just doesn't work out, for the reasons I specified above.
There are free luggage carts if you need them. The flat rates are good for 4 passengers and their luggage. All you have to do is follow the overhead TAXI signs, and get in line. Drivers are professional, there won't be any sur-charge, and you should print the complete address of your hotel, including the Postal Code and hand it to the driver.

PS - I would never pre-pay for a private car service or a shuttle service.
You won't get the service that was promised to you.
