Thinking of taking a taxi from St Lazare Gare to CDG. Has anyone done this and if so, what was the cost?

The cost to CDG is fixed for up to four people, fifty euros. No trouble, no surprises. Only trouble can be rush-hour traffic, but it's not as bad going out of Paris than going into Paris.

I'd say over 95% take card these days. Simply ask the first driver in the taxi rank at St Lazare, and if they don't, move to the next one.

Taxis are required to take cards but not all do -- they have 'broken' machines and many prefer cash for obvious reasons, so ask before getting into the cab if you can use the card and hold it up.
I'd probably have 50 Euro just in case.

We took the taxi from CDG to St Lazare -- simple and fairly quick (45 minutes, I think). Fixed rate for airport runs so you can decide if it works for you financially. We thought it was worth the money not to have to drag our bags (even though we pack light) around the metro / bus / RER.
