Hello Friends,
I have the 2018 edition of Rick Steves France. He says on page 965 that a round trip taxi from Colmar to Eguisheim and back to Colmar is 35 Euros. But I am unclear. Does that mean the taxi driver waits to bring you back?
Is it easy to find a taxi one way from Eguisheim back to Colmar, which is my base for touring the region.?I know I will have more questions . Thanks in advance

The direct answer is no to waiting. According to Rome2Rio the price is about right. Are you renting a car in Alsace? I spent 5 days there this summer and I would highly recommend it. Some of the best villages have no train service. I am assuming bus service is available, but I am unfamiliar with them or how often they run. The wine region is very large and can best be seen by car. It is a beautiful area. Enjoy.

Take the bus or walk. Colmar also has bus service to the other main wine villages close by.

Eguisheim is a great place to stay. Take the bus to Colmar. It'll be a short ride and a faction of the cost. If the schedule doesn't work out, you can always take a taxi instead.

I took a taxi from Colmar to Eq. and back. Don’t remember the cost but it is a very short trip. Asked the people at the very nice tourist office to call a taxi for the return to Colmar.
