We have a big group on an 11 hour layover. We come into to CDG at about 10:00 AM. I have read taxis are easily available into the city, but I'm wondering about a big group like us. I guess we could split up into one group of 4 another group of 5 if necessary. We are trying to get dropped off at the Eiffel Tower and then spend the rest of the time on our own walking tour. Suggestions?
You'll have to take 2 minivans, assuming you have some luggage.
Just agree how you'll split up and wait in line at the taxi station in the airport.
There are flat fees in effect, good for 4 passengers and their luggage. The extra person will pay 4 EU. If you are going to the Eiffel Tower, the flat fee is 55 EU per taxi.
If you don't speak French, write this on a piece of paper and hand it to the drivers:
"Tour Eiffel - Champ de Mars Station de Taxi - Forfait CDG 55 EU"
You will be dropped off right in front of the Eiffel Tower at the Taxi Stand that's right there.
This should be your meeting point for the rest of the group.
If you have any luggage, you cannot take it up in the Eiffel Tower, and I wouldn't recommend hauling your belongings around in an area known for high levels of pickpocket activity.
