We are arriving in Rennes from Paris by train on a Sunday morning and renting a car for the next 4 days. The Hertz rental office at the train station doesn't open until 4 pm, but it opens at the airport at 1 pm. It looks like the airport is only a few miles from train station so I thought we' d get a taxi to the airport to pick up the car and do the same on the return. Am I correct about the distance between the 2 locations and will taxis be available from the train station on Sunday, late morning? As always, thanks very much.

I never heard of a rental office opening just on Sunday afternoon, but I see that you are correct, per the Hertz web site, that it opens at 4:30 for people heading back to Paris at the end of the weekend to drop off cars.
Did you already book the train ticket? I do see the Avis car rental add-on (recommended on the earlier thread) offered when you buy a TGV Prems ticket though SNCF.
I would not expect any problem getting a taxi in a city this size.
