t+ ticket use in suburban PARIS

This June we will be staying at a suburban airbnb (outside zones 1 & 2) and will go to Versailles from there. The trip planner says we should take the T2 and then bus 171 (the whole trip is outside zones 1 & 2). I understand the transfer between T2 and 171 will require to pay for each trip, since there are no free transfers between trams and buses.

My question is, do t+ tickets work on suburban routes? If the answer is yes, I understand that we will each need 2 tickets for our trip. Am I missing something? Thank you.

Actually there is a transfer between trams and buses. There is no transfer between metro/RER and Trams/buses. but there is between each of the pairs i.e. RER and metro and Trams and Buses. Alas I am not sure of the bus rules outside of Paris. I think you can use the bus tickets in the suburbs BUT you need someone who knows for sure.

T+ tickets work on suburban bus routes. You just need one for a tram+bus trip, make sure to validate the ticket both on the team and on the bus.

The ticket t+ is valid on all forms of public transport in the Ile-de-France region. Of course, you need to understand the rules of validity (you can't use it on any RER travel outside of Paris etc.).
