Surcharge for Paris Museum Pass at TI booth?

Hi,
In his guidebook, Rick Steves mentions that there is a small surcharge for buying the Paris Museum Pass from a TI (travel information) booth. Does anyone know what that surcharge is? Thanks!

You can easily buy the pass at one of the attractions and avoid the surcharge entirely. Just the get it at one of the smaller museums - the Cluny or Rodin, for example - not at the d'Orsay or Louvre.

Thanks, but we'd like to get it at the airport since the first place we're probably going is the Notre Dame tower and I heard they don't always sell it there. I just want to know what the surcharge is, if anyone knows.

I don't think there is a surcharge at the TI booth at the airport.
Other places, like FNAC, might make you pay a surcharge.

Are you sure? They do a surcharge on individual tickets for museums and attractions. It seems odd that they wouldn't charge for doing the pass as well.

Just get it at the airport and activate it at the first museum you come to.

There are now ticket machines at Notre Dame Towers on the left side looking at the cathedral.

You give the number in your party and the machine will tell you when you can expect to come back. Don't be late!

I just did this on Aug. 17th coming out of Terminal 2A. The TI was right outside the door after coming up the escalator, there was no line and we would had to go out of our way to get a Museum Pass at the Picasso Museum. It wasn't clear if they were for sale at the Picasso Museum, so this made sense. I actually looked at my receipt for this very question - we paid 48€ each for the 2-day pass.

Hope this helps.

I've also purchased my Paris Museum Pass at the TI kiosk, and paid face value - no surcharge. However, I have paid a slight surcharge (.75 - 1 euro) for buying an RER B ticket into the city and for a carnet of tickets at the information booth.

As I recall, I bought my pass at a TI and the price was what I expected from reviewing the website before the trip. My first day was a jet lag day so I didn't date it/start using it until my second day in Paris.

Thanks everyone! We just got back from our trip, and indeed there is no surcharge at the airport TI for the museum passes, but there is a surcharge for buying train tickets there. The regular ticket machines by the trains were easy to use and took credit cards.
