Hello! My family and I will be in Paris for 3 days. We would love to find an outdoor {food-type, not vintage} market to visit on Sunday morning. We are staying in the 9th, but are happy to travel to other parts of the city for a great market. What markets do you suggest? Thanks!
This page here has market days for Paris. It is in French, use a translation tool as needed. There are no Sunday markets in the 9th or neighboring areas; your best bet is perhaps the Richard Lenoir market near Bastille: it is quite large, and it is close to the Marais which is very pleasant to visit on a Sunday (stores are open, unlike in many parts of town).
Just a bit further in the 12th, you have Marche d'Aligre which is larger still and combines a street section and an indoor section.
Remember that it is a morning activity, they start winding down around 1 PM and are gone by 2.
We have enjoyed Marche Grenelle on past visits. It is not far from the Eiffel Tower but filled with locals shopping.
Grenelle is indeed a great choice as well! How could I forget it, I lived next door for 20 years...
