We're planning an overnight visit to St Malo the Sunday after Easter 2017 (April 23). This is probably a dumb question, but are the usual attractions open on Sunday? I haven't traveled in Brittany before, and don't want to make tourist assumptions about customs in the small towns there. Thanks for any info you can share.
Hi Seadog,
The main attractions in St. Malo are the ramparts surrounding the old town and the tangle of streets within the ramparts called the Intra Muros. Both are always accessible. Other than that, there's not a lot in terms of tourist sights. There is a small History Museum (Musée d'Histoire de St-Malo) and historic mansion from the 18th century (La Maison de Corsaire). Both are open on Sundays. Outside the historic old town are also a Maritime Museum and Aquarium, both open Sundays as well.
There are a lot of interesting places in the Intra Muros also the church and stone buildings and Crepe shops.
Mike
From April the usual places to see in Saint Malo are open (on Sundays or other days). There is quite much to see in Saint Malo, or in the surroundings. In addition to what was already suggested : Cap Horners museum in the Solidor tower, the WWII museum in the Cité d'Alet, sculpted rocks in Rotheneuf, Jacques Cartier's manor house...
