Suggestions on guide for Paris, limited time

I have limited time in Paris, 20 aug evening, 21 aug 1/2 day afternoon, 22 aug all day. Yup, not much time so I want to go with a guided tour or private guide to get the most bang out of my short time in paris. Will be staying at Hôtel Beaugency
21 rue Duvivier 75007 Paris.
What do I want to see? Musee du Louvre, maybe a night tour. Suggestions please.

I have looked on line at guides and tours but would like first hand exsperience from you. Big thanks

The Louvre is open to 9:30 Wednesday and Fridays. You don't really need a guided tour if you have an Art background. Just read a guide as you go.

There are a couple of Paris Walks that would fall in your schedule-Village of Montmartre on Friday at 2:30, and The Marais, Circuit 1 on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. These are easy walks with no reservation necessary, just meet at the Metro stop (see program for details), pay your 12 euro, and away you go. Very good walking tours, about 1.5-2 hours.

With so many sights to see so close to you, I don't think you'll need a private guide. A couple of planned things, like walks, along with a hit list of a few sights that interest you, will easily fill your time. I suggest getting your hands on a good guidebook and decide what is a priority for you. Learn to use the Metro and/or the bus system before leaving, it's very easy to get around Paris.

Your hotel is walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, so you should definitely see it. I recommend going there your first evening in Paris, after dark when the twinkling lights go on (10 minutes before each hour). To me it's the best attraction in the city.

The Louvre Museum offers a Master Pieces tour in English:

For a good overview of the city, why not take a hop-on-hop-off bus.

With limited time, I understand why you want a good guide and don't want to waste time fumbling around.
