Joanne,
I must warn you, that you will probably find a lot of people who disapprove of the "photo shoot" idea. Multiple times I have read and heard complaints about those who take a lot of time and "hog" a location for their "perfect" photo or for their Instagram or website, or just their Facebook page, leaving all the other tourists standing around, being polite, while one person poses for their ideal shot. This may not be what you are thinking of, but I would tread lightly on this subject. In the past few years most of us have been inconvenienced by those who stand in front of a major sight while many photos are taken, as if the sight doesn't exist without a photo of that person next to it or in front of it. I recall on Easter Island a couple who spent ten minutes to get the perfect shot in front of a popular moai group. There were at least 6 couples or groups waiting to take a photo. They were either childishly clueless or insufferably selfish. Finally some people just walked up and stood in their picture spot. They got the point. Since you will be on a tour, I am sure someone in the group will take a picture with your camera, or even their own and text it to you. Mission accomplished!
(By the way, I am surprised to read your Iphone takes terrible pictures. I have an Android which takes good pictures, but all my Iphone-owning friends love their photos, and what I have seen of them are excellent. Perhaps there are some adjustments to be made on your phone that will help?)
Have a wonderful time in France. I am sure your photos will be wonderful triggers for your memories of the trip, perfect or not.
Amusez-vous bien!

or, buy a good point and shoot camera and DIY on a selfie stick. Take a dozen, at least one will be good.

Surprisingly the Kodak FZ55 is highly thought of.

You could also contact Jay Swanson or Les Frenchies, they will likely know someone.
