Suggestions for family friendly, moderately priced hotel with kitchenette in Paris please

Hello, I am looking for suggestions for a hotel for myself, my daughter and my mother for 12 nights in Paris. We will need at least: 1) two bedrooms or a suite where the bedroom can be closed off so that I can put my daughter to bed and grandma and I can stay up longer at night (we have traveled together before sharing one room with two beds and we all agree that that is a no go for future trips), 2) a kitchenette, 3) air conditioning (we will be there end of June to mid-July). Character would be an added bonus but I would forego it if I had to in order to meet our basic requirements. TIA!

Oh, and I have seen the responses in other threads about Hotel Henri IV and some of the Citadines locations, which I will look into.

Have you considered renting an apartment? There are potential apartment registration issues with that in Paris, but you could use Booking.com to start your search and get an idea of potential costs.

Fill out the form on the search page, then filter the results as you need. Use Review Score as your quality filter. Personally, I don't consider anything below an 8.

I stayed in a Citadines studio in London in 2016. It was tiny but I liked everything about it except the kitchen which only had an under-the-counter fridge and no oven. Perhaps the 2 bedroom places would have a better kitchen.

In 2012 my husband and I stayed in a one bedroom apartment in the Marais. It was enormous with a full kitchen that even had a Nespresso machine. The owner was so casual about the rental that I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't registered it yet. I think I found it on VRBO, another good source for finding apartments.

I'd expect a two bedroom to be pricey.

An apartment would be nice for your situation. However, as you may know there are problems with apartments

  1. No AC except in pricier units
  2. Illegal rentals and Paris' suit against Airbnb and 2 other concerns that is scheduled to be heard in June (before your arrival) If Paris wins, 40,000 or so apartments will be pulled from web sites. If you book one of these now you might be unfavorably surprised. On a website, those rentals with a 13 digit number starting with 75 are supposed to be legal.

Apartments are the way to go, but you do need to make sure it's legal. There have been crackdowns in Paris, I haven't been since all that started but others on here can tell you how to make sure your apartment is legal. Look on booking.com and limit by apartments (it also lists hotels) or other websights to at least get an idea of what is out there. Airbnb is fine too, but my impression is that it may have more of the legal concerns. Maybe not, though, just my guess.

All will list number of bedrooms. A one bedroom would allow you to put your daughter to bed and you stay up in the main section, and a two bedroom would give more space. And apartments will be cheaper than citidines or similar.

As for A/C, I have not stayed in an apartment in Europe without it. It is something to look for, but there are plenty at most price ranges (maybe not the absolute cheapest) with A/C.

I'd suggest Hotel Henri IV for your needs. There's a connecting apartment, I think.
And air-conditioning.

You might have to get 2 rooms, however, to sleep well. Hotel Residence Henri IV has comfortable beds. Don't know about keeping the door closed, however.

Citadines has individual air-conditioning and has comfortable beds.

Both have kitchens.
