We will be staying on MSM at Auberge St. Pierre on a Friday night in May. Does anyone have suggestions for a Friday Dinner and a Saturday morning breakfast? Many Thanks!
I stayed at Le Mouton Blanc, and ate both dinner and breakfast there. Nothing earth shattering, but is was fine. Fine-dining and MSM don't go hand in hand. They do have a nice outdoor terrace for eating dinner which offers a nice view of the Eastern side of the bay.
It sounds like you're looking for a place on the island, so can't help you there. However we stayed at Hôtel Le Relais du Roy across the causeway and had one of the best meals we've ever had in France! Complete surprise, because usually restaurants in tourist areas don't expect repeat customers and are primarily getting business thru location.
Hotel Duguesclin had a excellent dinner. The view from our table out the window was great, and our food was very enjoyable. Email or call ahead to make reservations to get the best view. They are small familied owned place that has a lot off week so make sure they are open. My parents are going in late September and disappointed they are closed that week since we enjoyed it so much. We got the recommendation from Rick Steves book. Breakfast at the Hotel Duguesclin was not very good, I think they put all the effort into the dinner. However a little place next door had some good pastries and sandwiches if you want that type of thing.
Many thanks for all the replies. I have been trying to email Hotel FDu Guesclin for dinner reserrvations but my broser doesnt recognize the site. Im going to give them a call:)
