Suggestions for a way to travel from Caen to Bayeux on 15 June-day affected by train strike

Six weeks ago I purchased 2 RT tickets between Paris and Bayeux for 12th to the 15th of June. The 12th has since become a Rail Strike day. After the strike dates were posted, I bought 2 one-way FlixBus tickets from Paris Bercy to Caen, the only city on their route which is close (32 km) to Bayeux. Now I can't find a way to get from Caen to Bayeux. Both LYFT and UBER have no drivers in Caen. I have to be in Bayeux on June 15th for my granddaughter and I to honor our pre-booked accommodations and to use the vouchers bought for a 9 hour Normandy Beaches tour on 13th of June. Does anyone know of a way to get from Caen to Bayeux without using SNCF?

I would definitely recommend renting a car. The area is easy to drive and there's plenty of car parks around. I feel you'll see more too!

I do thank you for taking the time to reply. It is more complicated to drive. If we rented a car in Caen to go to Bayeux, in 3 days we would have to be back in Caen to return the car. Then we would have to get back to Bayeux to use our SNCF tickets to return to Paris There is no way an 18 yo and a 79 yo would manage picking up a car in Paris....road signs in French, getting out of Paris would be daunting managing all the traffic in Paris because of the rail strike. I don't see it as a possible option ....But Thank you.

I think any train from Bayeux to Paris will stop in Caen, so you would not have to go back to Bayeux after dropping the car off in Caen; you could just get on the train in Caen. You might find someone sitting in your seat and need to politely evict them, but that can happen any time you don't board a train at its original departure point.

How about a regular taxi from Caen to Bayeux?

I think a taxi will have to be my choice. I didn't want to spend between $65 and with tip almost $80, but I'm tired of dithering about it. Thanks to the respondents. I will also try the day before to see if BlaBlaCar has anyone going to Bayeux after 4:30PM

I also looked online at busverts. Being linguistically challenged the schedule is posted in French and whatever type file it is copied from the translate buttons don't work. Thank you again

The line 30 bus (Ligne 30) does not operate on the weekend or holidays. Lun a Ven means Monday to Friday.
AUCUN BUS SUR CETTE LIGNE LES WEEK-ENDS ET JOURS FÉRIÉS (No bus on this line weekends and holidays)

There are many car rental agencies right near the Caen Train station (which is typical in France...even small towns!) However, given the timing (and likely stress) you have been under I would go by taxi - and as someone noted you don't really need to tip much (if at all).

Sorry about the strike - when I studied in France several students got caught during Spring Break. I've been pretty lucky on my visits. Hope you have a great time. Even if you have already been to a Creperie be sure to visit another while in Normandy...they are THE BEST in Normandy.
